MARLI DELANEY

Public Relations

Marli Delaney lives and breathes for the music. She began her journey into the music industry when she was scouted into a Pop-Punk Group called The Age, which gave her incredible opportunities to record all over Brooklyn, showcase for Atlantic Records and Hollywood Records, experience the processes behind photoshoots and being filmed, go on tour, and perform live at music festivals all by the time she had turned 15 years old. Not long after, Marli decided to explore her options of the music industry from more professional standpoints so she could expand her perspectives in an academic environment.
Marli is from Long Island, and Hofstra gave her a generous scholarship that allowed her to stay close to New York. She got very involved on campus, where she joined a sorority (Alpha Epsilon Phi), became the PR Chair for Makin’ Treble (Hofstra’s All-Female A Cappella Group), was hired by the School of Communications to serve as the Programming Director of Music of 88.7FM WRHU, was selected into the A&R of Unispan Records (Hofstra’s Student-Run Record Label), and has rehearsed and performed with several of Hofstra’s Music Ensembles (Indian Ensemble, Recorder Ensemble, Jazz Combos & JAZZ20). Marli is on track to receive a Dual Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Music, but when Marli is focusing on Communications she attends meetings for Hofstra’s chapter of the American Advertising Federation and PRSSA.
Outside of Hofstra, Marli interns at a local recording studio called Dream Recording Studios, that is intertwined with a management company called Jayem Management. She has also interned for the #iVoted Initiative, and for the notorious Music Discover Company, The Wild Honey Pie. Marli works at a corporate music performance program called The School of Rock, which has direct ties to the movie, tv show, and Broadway Musical.  When Marli is not doing any of these things, she is either running live sound for Sofar Sounds Long Island or is writing and producing her own music. With so much going on around her, Marli sometimes gets stuck daydreaming in the clouds… but feel free to wake her up at any point of time by talking to her in person or reaching out to her elsewhere- she is a friendly person and would love to connect with you!
